Dr. Arvin Mirzadeh BDS MJDF RCS (Eng)

Dental Surgeon

Dr Arvin Mirzadeh

Member of the Royal College of Surgeons
Member of the Association of Dental Implantology
Member of the British Dental Association

Arvin founded Vitality in Pulborough in 2008 to dedicate his time to providing high quality dental care in a relaxed environment. His aim is to provide expert advice and comfortable treatment to the most exacting standards. He enjoys helping his patients achieve the smile that they want by taking the time to listen and carrying out some of the most modern procedures available today. His relaxed style and approachable personality has allowed many patients previously put off dentistry to regain their confidence and acheieve their goals.

Arvin graduated from King's College London, and has worked at a number of practices in the South East. He is committed to continuing his postgraduate training, and in 2008 he completed three years of study to become one of the first dentists in the country to be awarded the Membership of the Joint Dental Faculties of the Royal College of Surgeons of England. This prestigious award is the new benchmark for dentists in general practice wanting to achieve an outstanding level of clinical competence.

He has dedicated a significant amount of postgraduate study to further his skills in implant dentistry, and in 2007 completed the Certificate in Implantology under the guidance of two highly acclaimed implant dentists. He has since become a member of the Association of Dental Implantology and in the near future will start his next postgraduate qualification, the Diploma in Implant Dentistry at the Royal College of Surgeons.

Mrs. Charley Mirzadeh Dip DH Dip DT RCS (Eng)

Dental Therapist

Mrs Charley Mirzadeh

Member of the British Society of Periodontology
Member of the British Society of Dental Hygiene and Therapy

Charley graduated from the Eastman Dental Hospital in London to join a select group of highly skilled dental therapists, of which there are only about a thousand in the UK. She offers a range of expert treatments for gum disease, supporting her patients to help keep their teeth and gums healthy. Charley also has a special interest in children's dentistry. Her aim is to ensure that your children's teeth are maintained in perfect health and she uses the latest behaviour management techniques to make sure your children are relaxed and comfortable during their visit.

Her extensive training has also meant that she has been able to develop a special interest in treating adults and children with special needs, who often need extra care and support when visiting the dentist. She is happy to talk to any prospective patients or parents who feel that they could benefit from this service.

Charley has worked in several practices in the area and recently decided to spend more time at Vitality to help develop our services and introduce ideas into the practice picked up from leading coaches and mentors in the field of dentistry to ensure Vitality remains at the top of its game for an outstanding patient experience.

Professor Mike Mulcahy BChD FFGDP (UK) FRCS (Hon) FDS MGDS RCS (Eng)

Dental Surgeon

Prof. Mike Mulcahy

Mike qualified at Leeds University Dental School and after undertaking hospital posts he set up a successful general dental practice in West Sussex in 1973. This pioneering practice grew into a local centre of excellence and has continued to develop over the years. Several years of clinical development led to Mike being awarded the Membership in General Dental Surgery by the Royal College of Surgeons of England.

Mike expanded his interests to become a Vocational Training Adviser for new dental graduates in Brighton, eventually taking on senior advisory roles for the London Deanery, BUPA and Denplan. Mike was appointed Dean of the Faculty of General Dental Practice of the Royal College of Surgeons in 2003, selling his practice in 2005 to focus on his academic commitments. His term of office ended in 2006 and since then Mike has maintained a small practice from home which he now brings to Vitality.

He has been awarded further qualifications in recent years, notably the Fellowship of the Faculty of General Dental Practice, one of the highest honours bestowed to dentists in the UK, and an honorary Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of England for services to the Royal College. A professorship in Primary Dental Care followed and Mike is now course director of the MSc in Primary Dental Care at the University of Kent, and the Diploma in Restorative Dentistry and the Advanced Certificate in Aesthetic Dentistry at the Royal College of Surgeons.

Christina Challen

Trainee Dental Nurse

Christina

Christina originally joined us in 2010 as a part-time receptionist. Her passion for dentistry has led her to seek a new challenge, and in September 2011 she began an apprenticeship in dental nursing at Northbrook College in Worthing. We will be training Christina at Vitality on the job in conjunction with her formal qualification.

Her experience in dentistry has given her a good head start in dental nursing as she builds up her knowledge of clinical dentistry in preparation for her exam in Summer 2012, when she is due to become a fully qualified dental nurse! When she is not working with us she looks after her two young boys at home in Rustington.

Jade Howson

Dental Receptionist

Jade

Jade joins us as a receptionist part-time. An ex-Navy dental nurse, Jade brings her considerable knowledge of and experience in dentistry to our front desk team. Her enthusiasm and friendly manner will ensure that our most nervous patients feel at home. Jade lives in Fittleworth with her husband and two young children, and is a very busy hands-on mum when she’s not at work.

Jaime Butterfill

Dental Receptionist

Jade

Jaime is the latest addition to our team. She steps in as a part-time dental receptionist enabling Christina to concentrate on her dental nurse training. Jaime helps to run our patient lounge with Jade. She is very approachable and will always ensure she puts patients at ease, no matter how nervous they are. Jaime lives with her boyfriend and two young children in Horsham. In the longer term, Jaime would herself like to expand her career as a dental nurse.
